THE DAY THE YEAR STOPPED
I feel every year the world stops on one day to watch it change. Still what has not changed is how new years comes up like Christmas' ugly step-sister every year. But on this day we notice the changing of the year, the changing of attitudes, and the changing of a president. This day San Fran was dressed up in her most beautiful clothing and ready for a night on the town, filled with perusing, drinking, and living life up. Tonight San Fran treated all of us well as we set out first to safeway to get some fast passes for the Bart system.
What didn't help was that all the Safeway's in a 5 mile radius were sold out of them, and apparently every Safeway thinks the other Safeway had some still.
After all those complications, we got to the Bart station and the city was alive, and we were in the heart of it. With security amped up to a hundred-thousand-trillion, we proceeded without caution, without sweating, not knowing that there's thing that went down this night that everyone would remember as infamous. I'm sorry if you've never heard of what happened, but that might be for the best. If curious just look up what happened on the internet.
During the trek through the veins to the heart of the city, I decided to call up the ghosts of my years past and wish them a new one, hoping that our friendship wouldn't change with the year. The guestlist include Chen dog, Alton, Shibuya, C Lim, and Kelley Kim. I passed the phone to Jenny and Tiffany for a lot of these conversations, especially the one with Rico.
The lights reached for the skies that night and they seemed so distantly beautiful. This night was definitely the night to look into the skies, metaphorically and literally. All the lights were on tonight.

Even 23 was lit up tonight, and no one ever can usually light up 23.
People were seen far and wide, one of those feeling I have never experienced before. I felt like it was one of those movie moments when a large crowd couldn't run because there were so many other people around. Everyone out tonight to celebrate change.
Boom....
The sky lit up with flashing explosions of decadence. Personally this is my favorite firework, because it starts up just as an explosion and then when you think its just a weak boom, it crackles brilliantly, lighting up the sky before it leaves.

This picture was pretty dificult to take, but not tooo shabby.
This new year's eve the lights really came out and gave it their all, with no regard for the future.

People people people, thats all i remember about this night mostly. Pushing it seems is the most common method people use when they want their way and someone's standing between them and their goal. Too bad we were in the way and we didn't really like to push.

Finally we arrived at the station and said goodbye to a tired San Fran, as we ourselves were all partied out. Welcoming the new year as we leave.
Yes I guess I'm a little bit behind the times right now, because the new year has invited a lot of new work and so I haven't had the chance to write much lately, but hopefully if I get my fisheye soon or once i start doing some projects you'll see some posts. Trust me there are at least 3 or 4 good ones before this blog thing gets old.

See you in '09. Never stop changing and pushing.

Those are some sick photos, but I think this post should be re-titled "The Day the Blog Stopped." Seriously man, it's time to update! Give the people what they want i.e. more photos.
